ALL YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will see much more on a New York walking tour with me than you would on your own. I won’t lecture at you for 20 minutes nor drown you with too many dates or names. You’ll get an easy mix of history, trivia, culture, and personal connections. It’ll feel like a fun stroll with a friend.

BEING FLEXIBLE

Since this is a private walking tour, we are not on an exact schedule. We can make unplanned stops, stay a little longer here or there, or quickly adapt the plan. That said, we may need to reroute due to subway closures or some other reason. Stuff happens. There’s so much to see. Any changes will have a minimal disruption.

NO PAID ATTRACTIONS?

I love the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, and others. We can talk about all the paid attractions on our walk. I'd rather make the most out of our time together instead of standing in lines.

ALL THAT WALKING

We'll cover about one mile per hour on foot. That's between 3-4 miles on a half day tour or 7-8 miles on a full day tour. That said, we’ll go as slow or as fast a pace as we need, so long as we are having fun. And yes, we'll stop to rest or grab a snack along the way.

WHERE TO MEET

I’ll either meet you in your hotel lobby or outside your AirBnB. If it makes more sense to meet at a central location, I will coordinate that with you in advance (and give directions.)

TIPPING

Tips are certainly appreciated, but not required. And be sure to tell all your friends YOU KNOW A GUY!

WEATHER

We’ll go rain, snow or shine. (let’s hope for shine). If it’s really bad, we’ll either change the date or mutually agree to cancel.

PAYMENTS

Credit and debit card via the online booking system are accepted. A 6% booking fee will be added to the total. I can also accept Venmo and Zelle if that is easier for you. Gratuities are welcome and appreciated.

CANCELLATION / REFUNDS

Cancel with at least 48-hour notice, you receive a full refund. If less than 48-hour notice, no refund will be issued. (Stuff happens. I get it.)

RESTROOM BREAKS

We’ll stop as often as we need to (or when one is nearby).  When you’ve gotta go, you’ve gotta go!

WHAT TO BRING

Water and good walking shoes. An umbrella on a rainy day.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Take as many photos as you’d like. I’ll be glad to help you, too.

CHILDREN

As a former camp counselor, I’m great with kids. Bring ‘em along. Strollers may slow us down, but we’ll make it work. Children age 4 and under are free. Groups may not exceed 10 including children.

FOOD

We will stop for snacks. We may not want to have a full sit-down meal, but I’m open to it if time allows, especially on a beautiful day.

LANGUAGES

I only speak English. But if you can speak enough to get by, we’ll be ok.
